Brussels prepares controls on HCFCs, methyl bromide

The EC is set to take tougher measures on HCFCs, the ozone-depleting substitutes for the CFCs, and methyl bromide than those agreed at global level last November.Proposals due shortly from the European Commission are expected to propose an end to the availability of HCFCs by 2015, and are already running into opposition from the retail and refrigeration industries.
