  • Ford is developing two plastic identification techniques which could speed the task of recycling used vehicles. One method uses the electrostatic characteristics of the plastic and the other is based on spectroscopic analysis. The long-term aim is to rapidly identify disassembled parts on a conveyor belt making plastic recycling more economic.
