Chemical industry pioneers solvent use reduction charters

The Chemical Industries Association (CIA) is to sign two charters in April with engineering and dry cleaning trade associations which will aim to reduce emissions of chlorinated solvents by 30% by 1996. The charters are part of an initiative by the European Chlorinated Solvents Association (ECSA) to sign some 15 agreements with national and international trade associations by the end of 1993.
