Detergent majors in packaging race
Lever and Procter & Gamble have launched "environment-friendlier" packs for their main brand washing powders. One has opted for plastic-laminated bags, the other for paper laminates. But the need for extra packaging to protect these during transport means that the full environmental gains associated with the new packs will not be realised unless reusable transit packaging is introduced.
