Chemical industry wins concessions on IPC fees
Revised cost-recovery charges payable in 1993/4 by industries regulated under three pollution control systems were announced by the Government at the end of March. Protests by the chemical industry about the fees proposed in February have won it some significant concessions, and a much lower fee will be payable when processes controlled by local authorities are upgraded to new plant standards.
