Environmental code for microelectronics industry

The semiconductor industry has published an environmental code of practice which guides manufacturers on how to comply with the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and urges them to set up environmental management systems.1

The code was produced by a working party set up by the UK Microelectronic Environmental Advisory Committee following a Department of Trade and Industry initiative in 1991. It aims to provide guidance on current best practice.
