Plans for London's fifth municipal incinerator

Plans for an incinerator west of London burning up to 400,000 tonnes of domestic and commercial waste annually have been disclosed by the waste disposal group Grundon.

The company already operates a clinical waste incinerator at Colnbrook, near Heathrow, and now hopes to build a £70 million municipal incinerator on an adjacent site. Submission of a planning application is expected within about six months.
