HMIP resorting to courts for radioactivity offences

HM Inspectorate of Pollution (HMIP) is continuing to take a tough line on breaches of the Radioactive Substances Act 1960 even when these pose little or no immediate hazard. In one of its latest prosecutions a firm was convicted after itself having notified a failure to satisfy the law to HMIP.
