  • The National Rivers Authority (NRA) is to prosecute Hickson and Welsh for exceeding its legal water pollution limits between the start of 1992 and the beginning of April 1993 at its chemical works at Castleford. The announcement came on the deadline that Friends of the Earth (FoE) had set for the NRA to take action against the company before the pressure group would itself prosecute.
