Company news

  • German refrigerator manufacturer, Liebherr, has announced the availability in the UK of fridges for the home that use neither the ozone depleting chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) or the new substitutes hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs). The company shied away from the use of HFCs along with other German manufacturers following publicity about their global warming potential. Instead the fridge uses a propane/butane mixture as a refrigerant and pentane-blown foam blown for insulation. It is supplied in the UK by Coolelectric. Tel: (0532) 459493.
