Plastic recyclers seek subsidy for secondary plastics
Recoup, the plastic bottle recycling organisation, has called for an industry levy to raise an extra £300 per tonne of recovered plastic to support reprocessing operations. The move could increase the present dismal recycling rate seven-fold within a few years - but some means will have to be found to ensure that all fillers and packers pay the levy.
