Grampian's sludge-to-land plan
Grampian Regional Council's plans to meet the requirements of the 1991 EC Directive on urban wastewater treatment will mean a six-fold increase in sewage sludge arisings. The Council intends to recycle all of the sludge by increasing disposal to forests and farmland.
