Company's drainage error turned river red

Blackburn wallpaper manufacturer Arthur Sanderson & Sons has been fined £2,500 after a spill of dye turned ten kilometres of the river Darwen red. The case has once again underlined the need for companies to have an accurate knowledge of their drainage systems and instructions for responses to chemical spills.
