Boost for life-cycle analysis funds

Life-cycle analysis (LCAs) practitioners seem set to receive an injection of research funds when the Society for the Promotion of Life-cycle Development (SPOLD) starts up in March.

LCA has emerged as an important tool to quantify resource and energy consumption and releases to the environment during the life-cycles of products. Rapid growth in LCA work is likely on the back of the EC product eco-labelling scheme (ENDS Report 203, pp 18-19).
