Scottish river quality improves

The quality of Scottish rivers continued to improve between 1985 and 1990, according to a summary of the 1990 quality survey released by the Scottish Office in March. The advance continues the trend recorded since surveys began in 1968, in contrast to the 10-year decline in England and Wales.
