Progress on UK's eco-labelling body

The first Chairman of the UK's official eco-labelling body is to be Dr Elizabeth Nelson, a market and social research specialist. The Government has also decided that the organisation will take the form of a non-departmental public body at arms' length from Ministerial control.

These latest steps towards the launch of the UK's end of the EC's eco-labelling scheme this autumn were announced on 5 March by junior Environment Minister Tony Baldry.
