  • A new biological effluent treatment plant is being commissioned by Ciba-Geigy Chemicals
    at its Grimsby site. The £18.5 million plant will treat waste from an existing process discharging into the river Humber and two additional pharmaceutical and agricultural chemical plants due to come on stream by 1993. Another £11.5 million is being spent on environmental measures out of a total expenditure of £200 million.
