Electronics industry to develop recycling strategy

Britain's electronics and electrical industries are to set up a group this autumn to prepare a strategy to handle the six million items of large electronic equipment entering the waste stream each year.

The establishment of the Industry Council for Electronic and Electrical Equipment Recycling (ICER) follows a recommendation in a Centre for the Exploitation of Science and Technology (CEST) report (ENDS Report 204, p 13 ).
