New controls on street noise to extend to Scotland

Proposals for new controls on noise nuisance in the street and on burglar alarms were issued by the Scottish Office on 12 August.1

The proposals are similar to those issued for England and Wales in June (ENDS Report 209, pp 30-1 ).
