  • Emissions of chlorofluorocarbons by Apple Computer have dropped from 270,000 pounds in 1990 to below 2,500 pounds in 1992. The company has switched to an assembly technology for high-quality circuit boards that does not require cleaning, developed with other electronics companies through technology exchange agreements. Other cleaning processes during manufacture have been converted to water-based solvents.
