Good start for BS7750

The pilot programme to test the new British Standard on environmental management systems has got off to a flying start. Some 300 companies and trade associations are now involved in the project - and only the financial sector has failed to become involved.

Launched by the British Standards Institution (BSI) in April, the new standard, BS7750, is intended to encourage businesses to establish a structured system for measuring, managing and improving their environmental performance (ENDS Report 207, pp 20-21 ).
