New adhesive to help shoe producers meet VOC limits

A solvent-free adhesive has been launched by Evode to enable footwear manufacturers to comply with impending controls on emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) without installing expensive abatement equipment.

Like ICI Paints' new low-solvent coatings for the vehicle refinishing industry (ENDS Report 213, p 22 ), Evode's product is one of a growing number of innovations intended to help users of solvent-based products to comply with controls introduced under Part I of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
