Chemical industry loses out in complaint over Co-op ad

Complaints by the chemical industry about a "green" promotion by the Co-operative Bank have been rejected by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA). And another ASA ruling has brought embarrassment for the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and one of its corporate sponsors.

Complaints about the Co-op Bank were submitted by the Chemical Industries Association and BASF after it ran advertisements promoting its new "ethical" lending policy (ENDS Report 207, pp 22-23 ).
