3M opens environmental performance to public scrutiny

3M (UK) has become the latest company to publish a report on its environmental performance. The report provides site-by-site details of the firm's releases to the environment and energy consumption, and appears to be unique in exposing each site's performance against 3M's environmental improvement targets to external scrutiny.

3M (UK) is a subsidiary of the US 3M corporation which makes some 60,000 products world-wide. Most of these are based on its expertise in coatings. Among the UK firm's best known products are Scotch video tapes, Post-It notes and Scotchgard fabric softeners.
