BP Chemicals claims first with air quality audit

BP Chemicals has released the results of an air quality audit around its Baglan Bay site which is claimed to be the first of its kind for a major industrial operation in the UK.1

The audit was conducted for BP Chemicals by Warren Spring Laboratory (WSL). Its objective was to assess the findings of a monitoring survey carried out by BP Research around the Baglan Bay site in south Wales in response to local concerns. The site houses a naphtha cracker and downstream units producing over one million tonnes of petrochemicals annually, as well as a 100MW power station.
