Priority for incineration in clinical waste guide

The first official guidance to state categorically that incineration is the preferred disposal route for all types of clinical waste was issued by the Health and Safety Commission (HSC) at the end of November.1

The guidance was prepared by the HSC's Health Services Advisory Committee. It is considerably more detailed and firmer than its predecessor, issued in 1982.
