Second blast wreaks further damage to Courtauld's environmental image

Twelve Courtaulds Acetate employees and five firemen were taken to hospital at the end of June following an explosion and fire at the firm's Spondon works near Derby. The incident was the third at the plant in the last six months and calls into question the company's safety and environmental management systems.
