HMIP's tough line with BNFL prosecution

A further sign that HM Inspectorate of Pollution (HMIP) is taking a tougher approach to enforcement of environmental law came this month when it successfully prosecuted British Nuclear Fuels Ltd (BNFL) for a breach of the Radioactive Substances Act 1960 even though no risk to the public was involved.
