The US chemical company Monsanto is to invest £4 million in new effluent treatment facilities at its Ruabon, Wrexham site (ENDS Report 129, pp 11-13). The project, which is due for completion in 1991, will be carried out in two phases. Glass-lined steel effluent storage tanks will be installed in stage one, followed by bioreactor ranks designed to make the best use of injected oxygen. The new facilities will be mounted on concrete
