Vehicle manufacturers Austin Rover have been ordered to pay £75,000 in costs to Oxford City Council for a court case which also brought them a £1,000 fine for breaching a notice to control paint emissions from their Cowley works (ENDS Report 131, p 5). The cost award, which fell short of the council's claim for £95,000 was accompanied by a court order giving Austin Rover a further year in which to abate the paint fall-
