An odour nuisance case dating back to 1984 came to a head this month when Beratec, a cattle feed manufacturer, was found to be in contempt of court and fined £4,000 plus costs. The action was brought by West Oxfordshire District Council over odours from the firm's chicken feather processing mill at Broughton Poggs, near Lechlade. An undertaking was given by the company in April to create no further nuisance while remedial engineer
