Yorkshire Water fined for chemical and sewage pollution

Yorkshire Water has been fined £4,000 after a discharge from its Osmotherley water treatment works poisoned a watercourse with chlorine. Less than a week later it was fined £3,500 after killing 2,000 fish when a blockage caused sewage to overflow near York.
