Bristol City Council faces the prospect of legal action after missing a second government-imposed deadline to submit plans to deliver compliance with legal limits for air quality.

The local authority received a ministerial direction in July 2017, requiring it provide a final plan to deliver compliance with legal limits for nitrogen dioxide (NO2) “in the shortest possible time by 31 December 2018”.
