What will the £5bn WINEP programme mean for consultancies?

Water companies’ obligations towards the environment are already significant, but climate change, population pressures and the UK’s continuing failure to meet its legally binding river quality targets are piling on the pressure to act. In response, the Environment Agency (EA) published the enormous Water Industry National Environment Programme (WINEP) last year, setting out measures that water companies need to implement to achieve their obligations over the five years to 2025.
