The transport and housing secretaries have overturned a council’s decision to refuse permission for one of HS2's ecological mitigation sites.

The secretaries of state found in HS2’s favour yesterday, allowing it to proceed with its initially rejected Colne Valley viaduct and wetland habitat creation site in Harefield in the London Borough of Hillingdon.
