DEFRA has confirmed that the new UK REACH chemicals registration database will be ready to receive user input from day one of a no-deal Brexit, although European businesses have united to call the prospect a “no-win outcome”.

A fortnight ago, during a House of Commons debate on the statutory instrument that would replace the EU REACH regime, environment minister Thérèse Coffey said that the department would decide that week if the database interface is ready to go live. This would allow companies to upload their own information directly.
