Emma Howard Boyd secures second term as EA chair

Environment Agency (EA) chair Emma Howard Boyd will continue in office until September 2022 after securing a second term as chair of the regulator, environment secretary Michael Gove confirmed today.

Her second term of office will end in September 2022, he said.

Howard Boyd assumed the role in September 2016, having been acting chair after her predecessor Philip Dilley resigned due to shortcomings in managing the 2015/16 floods. As chair of the EA, she also sits on DEFRA’s board and has an additional role as the UK commissioner to the Global Commission on Adaptation.
