UK’s biggest solar farm planned for east of England

A scoping report for a 500 megawatt solar farm straddling two counties in England has been submitted to the planning inspectorate.

Sunnica Energy Ltd – a joint business venture between UK companies Tribus and PS Renewables – submitted its scoping report for the solar PV site with battery storage capabilities to the inspectorate last week.

The Sunnica Energy Farm would be built near Mildenhall in Suffolk and Burwell in Cambridgeshire if approved, although its exact size is not specified in the project’s scoping report as this will “depend upon the project’s final specification”, the company said.
