Serial waste criminal banned from running a business

The Insolvency Service has stepped in to prevent a Wiltshire-based waste criminal from running another illegal business.

The action against Lee Averies, announced yesterday, follows Swindon Crown Court confiscating £200,000 of unlawful profits from him last month, on the application of the Environment Agency (EA). The regulator also handed 15,000 in costs against Averies at the time.

As of 1 April, he has been disqualified from acting as a company director, promoting, forming or managing a company or limited liability partnership, or receiving a company’s property for six years, the service said yesterday.
