Natural England asks public for £10,000 to restore nature reserve

Natural England has asked the public to help it fund a £10,000 extension of a national nature reserve in Shropshire.

The nature regulator wants to buy and restore one hectare of land at the edge of Stiperstones national nature reserve, called Windy Corner.

The money would bring Natural England close to its “vision of creating a continuous heathland along the entire 10km of the Stiperstones ridge, allowing an emperor moth caterpillar to be able to crawl from one end of this iconic upland landscape to the other”, it said.
