UK drifts further away from meeting carbon budgets

Government policies intended to drive the UK away from fossil fuel dependence will have less of an impact on greenhouse gas emissions than had been thought, DEFRA has admitted. More effort will be needed to hit future carbon budgets, which the country is already some way off meeting.
