Developer under investigation over alleged illegal tree felling

A Forestry Commission investigation has been launched following reports that a developer cleared woodland without permission before submitting a planning application.

Developer Dave Holloway applied to South Hams District Council in March to build nine homes on 0.7 hectares of land in Dartmouth, Devon but residents have reported woodland was felled three months prior to a formal planning application being submitted.

The Forestry Commission has confirmed it was investigating reports of the alleged illegal felling.

A Forestry Commission spokesperson said: “We can confirm that we are investigating reports of alleged illegal felling at Seymour Drive in Dartmouth, Devon.
