25-Year Environment Plan: ‘Not enough action’, say green groups

Green groups have lamented the government’s limited action towards meeting the goals of its 25-Year Environment Plan, despite a report revealing all but four work streams have been completed or are on track.

DEFRA’s first progress report since the plan was launched in January 2018 was published yesterday.

Tom Fyans, deputy chief executive at Campaign to Protect Rural England said that there had been “a lot of warm-words and consultation, but not enough action” since the plan was issued last year.
