Waste sector denies link between rise in EfW and recycling slump

Representatives of the waste industry have told a cross-party bench of MPs that there is no connection between soaring energy-from-waste (EfW) levels and low recycling rates.

The comments were made on Monday in front of the Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee, which was holding its opening evidence session for an inquiry into the implications of the and Waste and Resources Strategy for local authorities.
