Building firms and planners call for creation of national environmental spatial framework

Ministers should publish a "unified spatial framework" setting out how the UK's environmental objectives will be achieved alongside other social and economic priorities, the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) has said in a new paper alongside a series of other professional, environmental and business bodies.

The measure is one of several assurances called for in a document jointly prepared by the institute alongside more than 30 organisations, including the Confederation of British Industry, the Home Builders Federation and the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.
