Waste firms Walsh & Sons and Calahans Cleaning Services last week pleaded guilty to duty of care offences at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court.
The court heard that the owner of a plant nursery in Colchester had paid Walsh & Sons £25,000 to clear his site but that the waste was subsequently dumped at a nearby farm and an industrial unit in the town.
