New waste fine - total payout £9,000

Essex waste firm Calahans failed in its duty of care to ensure that waste from a plant nursery in Colchester was lawfully disposed, being fined £6,000 fine with costs of £3,000. It had been , subcontracted to transport the waste by Walsh & Sons (which was also prosecuted) but gave the job to a skip firm, without keeping waste transfer notes.
