12 June 2019: Regulations clarifying the restriction of hazardous substances (RoHS) regime enter into force. The Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical Equipment (Amendment) Regulations 2019 amend the 2012 RoHS Regulations. They expand the definition of non-road machinery to include corded mobile machinery like professional cleaning machines, so that they are not covered by the RoHS regime. They also add pipe organs to the exclusions, as well as extending those in relation to the second-hand sale of electrical equipment, cables and spare parts, including reused spare parts. This implements, in the UK, amendments to the scope of the EU-wide RoHS regime by EU Directive 2017/2102/EU.
