Consultancies picked for £4m contract to advise EA on permit decisions

Seven environmental consultancies, including Jacobs, Mott MacDonald and WYG, have won a share of a £4m contract to support the Environment Agency’s (EA) national permitting service team.

The department employs more than 400 staff across five offices and determines environmental permits across a range of sectors from water to waste to the chemicals industries.

Twelve companies were in the bidding for the work, which was eventually awarded to Jacobs UK, Wardell Armstrong, Socotec, Gutteridge Haskins and Davey, Mott MacDonald, Stantec UK (ESI) and WYG Environment Planning Transport.
