Ineos launches appeal over rejected fracking exploration well

Chemicals giant Ineos is seeking to overturn planning permission for its twice-rejected shale gas exploration well in South Yorkshire.

An eight-day independent inquiry to debate the issues of Ineos drilling in Woodsetts, in Rotherham, began on Tuesday.

Ineos has been refused planning permission twice before by Rotherham Council which went against its own planning inspector’s recommendations for approval in September last year.
